Most Blokes when they hit a mid life crisis get divorced, buy a fast car and get a girl friend half their age, however I decided at 37 to buy a Bass Guitar with a 25 Watt amp and one of those ‘How to play Bass for complete beginners’ books.
Quickly finding out that ‘A Tune a Day’ was not really the way forward I decided to invest in some lessons.

By the end of ’05 I was confident enough to start nagging my brother, who played guitar, to get together for a jam session. The venue for those first sessions was not exactly the Royal Albert Hall, but instead his very small spare bedroom.

It was not too long before the topic of conversation quickly turned to forming a band, numerous adverts leading to the recruitment of Fingers and Sticks.
With some songs under our belt and a musical direction we still needed a name for the band. I came up with ’39 Casualties’ afterwards seeing one of those road signs giving the detail of injuries and road deaths on a particular stretch of road.

Take it easy.
